"To Everything there is a Season"- Fall Landscapes

This fall landscape started as a summer one — an older painting transformed with new layers of color and light. As I painted, I couldn’t help but think about how much has changed since last fall.

Last fall was a season of uncertainty for our family. Our daughter had just been diagnosed, and we were preparing to leave home for five months — halfway across the country — for her bone marrow transplant.
We knew everything was in His hands and had to trust that, whatever the outcome, God was working it all for our good.
This fall feels so different. Her treatment was successful. We’re home together again, and some days it feels like complete bliss.

This time of year will always hold a special place in my heart. I’ll never forget the weight it carried on our hardest days, but I also see the purpose that was woven through it all.
“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven.” — Ecclesiastes 3:1
I pray these fall paintings will serve as a reminder to give thanks to Him and trust the One who is sovereign over all things and every season.
