A DIY Puppet Show Curtain
Create your own puppet show curtain for your child or as a gift for another child in your life!
I saw an idea for this on Instagram and decided to make one for my girls. I used a couple of thrifted tablecloths to create theirs, and I love how the different fabrics and colors came together!

Supplies
1 tablecloth, curtain panel, or about 2–3 yards of fabric
1 small wooden dowel rod (1–2 feet long)
1 tension rod
Extra fabric for tiebacks and decorative details (optional)
How I made ours
I started with a tablecloth and cut a slit about 1.5 feet long, centered toward the bottom half, to create the opening for the puppets.
I stapled a wooden dowel rod along the bottom edge of the opening to give the fabric a little more stability and help it hold its shape.
To add some personality, I sewed an additional square tablecloth onto the main piece of fabric. I love the way the contrasting fabric creates a little stage for the puppets!
I used some extra fabric to make tiebacks for the curtains, which can be pulled to the sides when the girls want to put on a show.
For the top, I folded the fabric over and sewed it to create a pocket for the tension rod. This makes it easy to hang the curtain in a doorway without needing to install anything permanent.
Finally, we had a little mobile from a baby toy that we added to the top for extra decoration. I love how it makes the whole thing feel like a tiny theater!
I used what I already had on hand, but you could easily customize this with your child's favorite colors, patterned fabric, or little handmade decorations. It doesn't have to be perfect to be special. I think the sweetest part is creating something that encourages imaginative play and gives little ones a place to put on a show!
