I am starting a new series of landscapes titled, “Hope,” but this series is different in many ways from my previous works. One being that I need your help to bring this series to life.
I want to create a series of landscapes inspired by photos you’ve taken of your most favorite places.
Since traveling has been super limited this summer, I thought it would be fun to share our past traveling adventures and special memories that surround our favorite places.
This series is an opportunity to bring you guys into my artist process and for me to share YOUR story through painting.
This series is about you . I’m so excited to see your photos, hear your stories and learn about your favorite place.
It’s my prayer that by sharing these special places and special memories that we can be filled with hope again for the future, in-spite of so many things that we are out of control of during this time.
"We rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts."
Romans 5: 3-5
To submit a photo for this series, you can shoot me an email, text or message. I love a good story/memory, so please feel free to include that as well!
Sending a photo in no way obligates you to purchase the painting I make, BUT you will get first look at the painting before it goes on sale to the public!
I might not be able to paint every photo submitted, but as always, you can reach out to me about a commission.
I will be adding each painting from this series to my website as it is finished!
The painting above is titled, “Girl’s Trip,” and is available now to purchase on shelbyleighdesigns.com.
It was inspired by a photo that my sister-in-law, Jayme, took in Yellowstone National Park on a hike called “Hell-roaring.”
“This was one of my most memorable hikes in Yellowstone. I think it’s because I heard my friend Isabelle saying she hated it so I assumed it would be lousy. My expectations were so low that once I got onto the trail they were easily surpassed. This hike reminds me of girlfriends, swimming in the freezing water, being scared of bears,& how amazing women are.” -Jayme
This painting is 24x36 inches on gallery wrapped canvas. It is $900, but it can purchased through a payment plan! Shoot me a message to learn more!
If you are questioning whether your photo and story should be seen and heard, the answer is "YES!"
Let's share some hope in these still uncertain times!
Sincerely,
Shelby Leigh Kizer
